Remembering a Revolutionary: Timothy Brewster Terry

A 250th Anniversary Celebration of Local Legacy

Step back 250 years and stand where history lives. Join the Farmingville Historical Society for a stirring summer evening of patriotism and hometown pride as we honor Revolutionary War patriot Timothy Brewster Terry. From a moving memorial ceremony beneath a 13-Star flag and musket salute to an immersive, walk-through reception filled with historic displays, colonial tastes, and living history, this unforgettable 250th Anniversary celebration brings Farmingville’s founding story vividly to life.

Witness the unveiling of Timothy Brewster Terry’s commemorative brick, explore his family’s deep local roots, savor traditional fare and switchel, and help create a one-of-a-kind community quilt capturing “250 Things We Love” about Farmingville today. Inspiring, interactive, and richly meaningful, this is more than an event — it’s a powerful tribute to legacy, community, and the enduring American spirit.
