What is the Farmingville Historical Society Family Earth Day Scavenger Hunt?
Bring your family to an outdoor Earth Day adventure and historic scavenger hunt hosted by the Farmingville Historical Society. Pre-register online ($15 per family) or register on the day of the event ($25 per family). Arrive at the 1850 Bald Hill Schoolhouse anytime between 12-4PM. Your family will receive a map and clue card. Each clue will lead you on a scavenger hunt to find items pertaining to the local land, wildlife and history. This active family adventure is both fun and educational. Once your family identifies all the items on your list, return to the 1850 Bald Hill Schoolhouse to retrieve your family gift!
Date: Earth Day, Sunday, April 22, 2018; rain date is Sunday, April 29, 2018
Time: Arrive any time between 12PM-4PM and start your scavenger hunt; scavenger hunts take about 30 minutes to 1 hour to complete.
Location: Park at Farmingville Hills County Park; check in or register at the 1850 Bald Hill Schoolhouse.
Pre-Registration Fee: $15 per family (up to 6 family members); For more than 6 family members, you will need to register as 2 families. PRE-REGISTRATION CLOSED. REGISTER AT THE HISTORIC SCHOOLHOUSE ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT!
Day of Registration Fee: $25 per family (up to 6 family members); register at 1850 Bald Hill Schoolhouse on day of event.
Additional Information: The Scavenger Hunt will require walking on dirt and grass. In addition to walking the School House and Park grounds, the clues will lead you on a short .39 mile hike on a dirt trail. Everything will be clearly marked.
